TVRUG AGM
The 2011 AGM of the Tyne Valley Rail Users' Group was held on Thursday 8th December at Hexham Community Centre. Our speaker was Drew Haley, Client and Stakeholder Manager for Northern. A write up of his presentation and the minutes of the meeting have been emailed or posted to all members
What are we doing?
Your TVRUG Committee is holding regular meetings to progress the campaign aims determined by the membership at both the meeting held in February and from your comments received by email. We hope to issue a leaflet in September in an effort to increase membership and are doing the groundwork for a campaign presentation to influence the new franchise. Meanwhile please continue to pass any comments on to our Chairman, Malcolm Chainey or Secretary, Julie Gibbon via 'contact us'
New Timetable More Stops. A victory for TVRUG!
TVRUG has achieved one of its longstanding campaign aims to have more trains stopping at stations west of Hexham to achieve at least a 2 hourly service. The May 2011 timetable has a total of 16 more stops at Haydon Bridge, Bardon Mill, Brampton and Wetheral.
Ticket Machine at Prudhoe
TVRUG suggested the idea of a ticket machine on the platform at Prudhoe some years ago and a few months ago Northern installed it. Members have informed us of a few issues with it and Northern are to fix a hood over the screen so it can be read in sunshine.
