SPEAK UP ON OUR FORUM if you have ever used Prudhoe Plusbus or the 601 town service to or from the station.
TVRUG member Robert Forsythe says he has used the 601 from the station once. It has a very confusing, hard to follow, irregular timetable. This caught him out. He thought he would be taken down Castle Road where he lives. Instead on leaving Castlefields the bus turned up the hill and he found himself in Bewick Grange........
It has recently been reported that Plusbus ticket usage for 2007 shows an increase in passenger numbers utilising these tickets. The comparative passenger number totals are as follows:
| Yearly Total | Adult | Young Person | Child | Disabled | Senior Citizen |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2005 | 61 | 6 | 12 | 0 | 2 |
| 2006 | 154 | 10 | 33 | 2 | 4 |
| 2007 | 237 | 22 | 35 | 4 | 15 |
Indicating an improvement on comparable figures for previous years.
So it seems that something is happening, amounting to about one ticket issued a day. This can be built on but it needs better (and accurate) publicity. The Plusbus web site is not too good and is out of date.

... and in addition simply enjoy the scenery in the Tyne Valley as the train takes the strain.
