Stephenson's Works .............

Stephenson's Works is situated in South Street behind Newcastle Central Station. Entry is free. All are welcome. The formal guided tour of the works lasts approximately 45 minutes. After the tour visitors may return to rooms of particular interest to them in their own time. On Open Days the Trust runs a sales stand where books and leaflets relating to Robert Stephenson and other railway matters may be purchased. The sales stand also includes a number of books about the High Level Bridge currently undergoing extensive repair works. These premises are open for public viewing between 11.00am and 3.00pm on the second  Saturday and the Sunday following in every month until further notice as listed below.

Our opening dates for the six months February to July 2008 will therefore be:

February – Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th

March – Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th

April – Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th

May – Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th

June – Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th

September - Heritage weekend Thursday 11th, Friday 12th, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th
